The Fellowship Program for Research and Advanced Training in Virology and Vaccine Technologies is an initiative from COMSTECH, as the Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the OIC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and PT Bio Farma as OIC Centre of Excellence (CoE) on Vaccines and Biotechnology Products. The first and second batches of this fellowship program have been successfully held in 2022 and 2023 with the aim of strengthening health and science collaboration among OIC member states and preparing researchers to face the challenges of a future pandemic, through theoretical and practical training, as well as industrial visit. In total, there are 14 selected participants consisting of researchers and health professionals from 8 OIC member countries (Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Uganda) have participated in the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 3rd Batch of OIC COMSTECH Fellowship Program for Research and Advanced Training in Virology and Vaccine Technologies will be held in July 2024. COMSTECH jointly offers fellowships to young scientists in OIC countries to enable them to spend 1 month at a relevant CoE in an OIC country. The purpose of these fellowships is to enhance the research and development capacity of promising scientists, especially those at the beginning of their research career, helping them to foster linkages for further collaboration in the field of virology and vaccine technology. This opportunity will be available for 10 participants (selected by COMSTECH and the Ministry of Health).
