In the context of developing traditional medicine in Indonesia, the National Traditional Medicine Policy (Kotranas) has been prepared, which contains a statement of commitment of all parties regarding the establishment of national goals and objectives in the field of traditional medicine along with priorities, strategies and the roles of various parties in the implementation of the main components of the policy for achieving national development goals, especially in the health sector. Kotranas aims to ensure the availability of traditional medicines that are guaranteed in quality, efficacy and safety, scientifically tested and widely used both for self-treatment and in formal health services. To achieve this goal, the traditional medicine industry needs to be fostered in order to produce traditional medicines that meet the specified requirements in accordance with their intended use.
