In commemoration of the 58th National Health Day (HKN) in 2022 with the theme “Bangkit Indonesiaku Sehat Negeriku”, the Ministry of Health through the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices organized a Health Development Exhibition to Support Health System Transformation, especially the 3rd Pillar transformation agenda.
With the theme Proud of Domestic Health Innovation and Technology Products to Support Health System Transformation, the Health Development Exhibition was officially opened by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Gunadi Sadikin together with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Deputy Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono, representatives from the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and representatives from the Governor of Banten.
The Health Development Exhibition in the framework of the National Health Day (HKN) has been held every year since 2015. In 2020-2021, this exhibition was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, finally in 2022 the Ministry of Health through the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices was able to hold a Health Development Exhibition in the framework of the 58th HKN face-to-face at ICE BSD Tangerang on 3-5 November 2022.

In her report, the Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices L. Rizka Andalucia said that this year's Health Development Exhibition specifically displays innovations in health products made by the nation's children. “This year's exhibition shows the revival of the pharmaceutical and medical device industry which has made great progress after we all struggled to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic,” said the Director General.
The exhibition, which is held free of charge for the public, organizes health promotion activities and programs of the Ministry of Health in an effort to educate the public regarding healthy living. Among them are by organizing various talk shows, competitions and free examination services for the community such as blood sugar checks, COVID-19 vaccinations, brachial ankle checks, acupuncture therapy, blood donations, eye examinations, and others.
The exhibition featured 469 booths reflecting innovations and health technologies made by the nation's children. Participated by 118 medical device industries and 24 household health supply industries, 34 pharmaceutical industries and raw materials, 25 traditional medicine business industries, 11 cosmetic industries and 9 food industries, 11 professional organizations, 13 vertical hospitals, 5 pharmaceutical electronic system providers, Poltekekes, BPOM, BUMN, Health Office, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Communication and Information, as well as health flagship programs.
On the same occasion, there was also a business matching activity that brought together business people to develop business and open up investment opportunities for the domestic industry. This activity was attended by more than 90 parties from the medicinal raw material and medical device industries, pharmaceuticals (formulations), medical devices, Post-Harvest Processing Center for Medicinal Plants (P4TO), Phytopharmaca/UKOT/UMOT, researchers, as well as health service facilities, health offices, and foreign partners.

In his remarks, Minister of Health Budi G. Sadikin said that he wanted to target 50% of drugs and medical devices to be produced domestically by the end of 2023 to implement pillar three of the health system transformation in Indonesia. This was marked by the submission of a raw material Change Approval Letter (SPP) from BPOM to the pharmaceutical industry that has made a change source from imported drug raw materials to local raw materials.
"We want to ensure that at least 50% of all vaccines, drugs and medical equipment can be produced domestically. Earlier, we have seen the signing of MoUs from products whose raw materials were previously imported, we have encouraged them to buy domestic raw materials,” said the Minister of Health.

The Minister of Health further said that a strong commitment is needed not only from the government, but also from industry players. For this reason, his party will provide incentives for industries to be able to build vaccines and medical devices in the country.
Another commitment is marked by the ability of the Indonesian industry to produce vaccines with mRNA technology. According to the Minister of Health, in the future this technology will be very useful to increase Indonesia's speed in responding to the next pandemic.
The Minister of Health hopes that all parties can help realize health transformation efforts to realize better health services for all Indonesian people.

Through the Health Development Exhibition activities, a series of activities were also held to launch several innovation programs that support the transformation agenda and the presentation of awards, including the National Children's Work Award in the field of Pharmacy and Medical Devices, Submission of raw material SPP from BPOM to the Pharmaceutical Industry that has completed the change source, MoU signing between the pharmaceutical industry formulations and raw materials, launching the Dictionary of Pharmacy and Medical Devices, Dashboard & Flipbook Profile of Health Workers 2022, Inpatient INA Grouper Trial for JKN Claim Payment at FKRTL, Health Transformation Mascot, and others.
