The President of the Republic of Indonesia through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 6 of 2016 has mandated to realize independence and improve the competitiveness of the domestic pharmaceutical and medical device industries. In the Presidential Instruction, the President ordered all relevant agencies to maximize their roles and authorities to support the accelerated development of the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, especially to support the independence of drug raw materials whose import value is still high.
To realize the mandate of the Presidential Instruction, the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices through the Directorate of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Resilience held a National Forum for Evaluation and Strategic Planning for Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Resilience which took place at the Grand Mercure Hotel Yogyakarta on 11-13 December 2022.
The meeting, which was held online and offline, was attended by relevant Ministries and Institutions, the Pharmaceutical Industry, the Drug Raw Materials Industry, the Vaccine and Biological Products Industry, the Medical Device Industry and SMEs, the Phytopharmaceutical Industry, Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Associations, Universities, and Government Hospitals as well as resource persons from within and outside the country.
The purpose of this meeting is to be able to synergize programs from stakeholders, both Ministries / Institutions, industry, organizations / professions, and the community as beneficiaries to realize the independence and resilience of pharmaceutical preparations and medical devices.

Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, L. Rizka Andalucia in her speech said “The efforts that have been made in building pharmaceutical and medical device resilience are not yet perfect. There is still room for improvement that needs to be explored, so that in the future this effort will be more progressive in Health Transformation”.
Director General Rizka also appreciated this meeting with the hope that there will be more collaboration and synergy in various efforts to build pharmaceutical and medical device resilience in 2023.
Director of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Resilience, Roy Himawan in his report said “Through the National Forum for Evaluation and Strategic Planning of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Resilience, it is hoped that it can synergize programs from relevant stakeholders, including the Government, Associations, Academics, Industry and the Community as beneficiaries to realize the independence and resilience of pharmaceutical preparations and medical devices”.
In addition to holding Focus Group Discussion activities, Seminars, discussions on pharmaceutical and medical device resilience strategies, exhibition booth consultations from Ministries / Institutions related to drug licensing, medical devices, halal products, and investment, in this activity also held the awarding of TKDN certificates to 12 drug and medical device industries, and giving awards to 3 hospitals with the category of the Highest Domestic Use / Expenditure of Medical Devices in DI Yogyakarta Province.
