Director of Pharmaceutical Management and Services Agusdini Banun Saptaningsih conveyed the importance of utilizing information systems such as SMILE and ASIK in terms of vaccine management so that it can be monitored from upstream to downstream.
The utilization of information systems in the context of vaccine management is needed to obtain a complete and valid picture of the availability of vaccines and supporting logistics for vaccination.
"For this reason, it continues to be necessary to increase the understanding of management officers related to Effective Vaccine Management both at the central and regional levels, as well as in the scope of pharmacy and programs," he said in a speech at the Coordination Forum for Capacity Building of Central and Regional Officers in Vaccine Management and Vaccination Logistics in Batam City on Wednesday (4/10).
According to Agusdini, vaccination logistics management is part of the implementation of pharmaceutical service standards, in the form of a cycle consisting of the stages of selection, planning and financing, procurement, storage, distribution, monitoring and evaluation. These stages have been regulated in Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health in the twenty-second section concerning the Safety and Use of Pharmaceutical Supplies, Medical Devices and Household Health Supplies.

Furthermore, she added that the successful implementation of the immunization program in Indonesia is certainly inseparable from the support of the central and local governments in ensuring the availability and quality of vaccines and vaccination support logistics on an ongoing basis as well as qualified and competent human resource managers in supporting public health services.

On the same occasion, the Chairperson of the Vaccine Availability Control Working Team, Indah Susanti Donimando, revealed that the realization of the achievement of the district / city indicator with the availability of complete basic immunization vaccines (IDL) for the third quarter of 2023 had reached the target, namely 94.16 percent with a national target in 2023 of 94 percent. These results are considered positive and are expected to be maintained by the availability of IDL vaccines in each region.

"It is hoped that collaboration and coordination between the central and regional governments in implementing immunization programs in Indonesia can continue to run continuously so as to provide impact in reducing morbidity and infant mortality, which is also one of the main agendas of the Health Transformation," Indah said.
The coordination forum was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, POM, PT Bio Farma and vaccine management officers from provinces and districts/cities in Western Indonesia.
