The Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices of the Indonesian Ministry of Health participated in the Pharmacy Career Expo 2024 organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) at Grha Sabha Pramana UGM, Yogyakarta on August 10-11, 2024.

This event carries the theme "Charting Opportunity and Maximizing Potential" which aims to provide information for students and the general public regarding the world of work in the pharmaceutical field.

Vice Dean for Finance, Assets and Human Resources Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Prof. Endang Lukitaningsih, in her speech expressed her gratitude to pharmacy partners, organizers and participants who have participated in Pharmacy Career Expo 2024. She welcomed the series of activities held "of course this activity is very useful not only for students but also alumni" she said.

This activity is an important moment for students, alumni and fresh graduates, especially from UGM to get comprehensive information about various programs and career opportunities available at the Ministry of Health. This is in line with the Ministry of Health Goes to Campus program which aims to find smart and creative young talents in universities to realize the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.

In this valuable opportunity, the Directorate General of Pharmacy presented information related to the acceptance of Candidates for State Civil Servants (CASN) at the Ministry of Health. Not only that, at the booth the Directorate General of Farmalkes also introduced the Smart Community Movement using Medicines (GeMa CerMat) program that has been launched since 2015 with educational activities on the proper and correct use of medicines. In addition, education was also delivered regarding the supervision of the distribution license of medical devices through the mobile medical equipment application. This application is to facilitate the public in checking the distribution license of Medical Devices and Household Health Supplies (PKRT) products registered at the Ministry of Health.

This booth is one of the main attractions, because it provides practical knowledge that is very useful for UGM students and alumni. The students looked so enthusiastic listening to the material and education presented.

PIC Pharmacy Career Expo 2024, Apt. Anna Wahyuni, stated that the Ministry of Health's participation in this event was very useful, "With the presence of the Ministry of Health, visitors know more about the information and opportunities available if they join the Ministry of Health. This is very helpful, especially for job seekers, students and us as "pharmacist suppliers". They can better understand the role of pharmacists in various fields in the Ministry of Health," she said.

Senada dengan itu, Abelina Meliasari ketua panitia kegiatan ini, mengungkapkan kebahagiaanya  karena Kemenkes merupakan satu-satunya Kementerian yang berpartisipasi dalam acara ini, “Kami berharap langkah Kemenkes ini bisa di ikuti oleh Kementerian atau Lembaga lainnya, Semoga ke depannya akan semakin banyak pengunjung, khususnya dari kalangan farmasi dan masyarakat umum, yang turut memeriahkan acara ini, mendaftar CASN, dan menjadi bagian dari Kementerian Kesehatan khususnya di Ditjen Farmalkes” tambahnya.
