Medical devices are one of the important components used to diagnose, prevent, monitor, treat diseases, as well as to correct injuries or sustain life for people with disabilities. Household Health Supplies (PKRT) are devices, materials or mixtures of materials for the maintenance and care for human health, intended for use in households and public facilities.

Based on Law number 36 of 2009 concerning Health, it is stated that the state guarantees that medical devices and PKRT in circulation meet safety standards, are of good quality and useful for use and increase health security, are environmentally friendly and affordable. For this reason, supervision of products and facilities for the production and distribution of medical devices and PKRT must be optimized.
The Directorate of Medical Device Supervision is one of the Directorates within the Ministry of Health as the holder of the main tasks and functions of enforcing laws and regulations in the field of medical devices and PKRT.

Director of Medical Device Supervision Eka Purnamasari and the Medical Device and PKRT Supervision Team conducted incidental supervision activities in the form of inspections of medical device and PKRT production and distribution facilities in Banten province last November.
The inspection was carried out based on the results of product sampling that had been carried out previously, allegedly there were PKRT products containing medicinal chemicals. As a follow-up, sealing the production site, withdrawing products containing medicinal chemicals for destruction and stopping production were carried out. The sanctions are imposed in accordance with applicable regulations.
