The President of the Republic of Indonesia emphasized the government's support and partiality for the use of domestic products through Presidential Instruction No. 2 of 2022, concerning the acceleration of the increase in the use of domestic products and products of micro, small and cooperative enterprises in order to succeed the National Movement of Proudly Made In Indonesia (Gernas BBI).
The National Movement of Proudly Made In Indonesia (Gernas BBI) and Proud of Traveling in Indonesia (BBWI) is one of the government's strategic efforts so that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the Indonesian tourism sector can continue to develop and become the main pillars of the national economy.
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia was appointed as the Campaign Manager of the National Movement of Proudly Made In Indonesia (Gernas BBI) and Proud of Traveling in the Indonesian Region (BBWI) of Central Kalimantan Province. The activity has started since March 2024 with various activities to strengthen and empower Micro Small Enterprises (SMEs) in Central Kalimantan Province.
The main essence of this program is to increase the resilience and independence of the national economy by relying on the ability to manage domestic resources in a sustainable manner.
Located at the Poltekkes Kemenkes Palangka Raya, the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices of the Ministry of Health through the Directorate of Pharmaceutical Production and Distribution held “Counseling and Assistance on the Potential of Natural Medicines, Cosmetics, and Food” on July 17 to 18, 2024.
In this activity, counseling and training were provided to 50 MSME business actors in the fields of natural medicines, cosmetics, and food in Palangka Raya City so that products in circulation meet safety, efficacy / usefulness and quality requirements so that they do not have adverse effects on the community and are able to be competitive.
Natural medicines, cosmetics, and food are commodities that are widely used by the public and can have an impact on health. Thus, Law No. 17 of 2023 concerning health regulates aspects of health efforts, including those related to the security and use of pharmaceutical preparations and the security of food and beverages.
The safety of pharmaceutical preparations is organized to protect the public from the dangers caused by the use of pharmaceutical preparations, including natural medicines and cosmetics, which do not meet safety, efficacy/usefulness, and quality requirements.
Meanwhile, food and beverage safety is organized so that the food meets the standards and/or requirements of safety, quality and nutrition so that it does not have adverse effects on the community.
For this reason, it is expected that the growth and improvement of domestic industries and businesses can apply standards and requirements in accordance with applicable regulations, so that it is expected that the products produced are consistent, safe, and of high quality.
