Indonesia has received another shipment of 10 million Sinovac vaccines in bulk form. This is the fifth shipment. The vaccine arrived yesterday (2/3/2021) at Soekarno Hatta Airport. The vaccines in five envirotrainers were carried by Garuda Indonesia aircraft GA891 and arrived in Cengkareng at 12:30 WIB, then these vaccines will be carried by 2 trucks to Bio Farma in Bandung. On this occasion, Ministry of Health officials who attended the arrival of the vaccine included Deputy Minister of Health (Wamenkes) Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Ministry of Health Vaccination Spokesperson Siti Nadia Tarmizi, and Coordinator for Planning and Assessment of Public Drug Availability Martin Sirait.
Deputy Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono said this material is intended for public service officers and the elderly. With the presence of these 10 million vaccines, the total vaccines from Sinovac that Indonesia has received are 38 million vaccines. “We are still waiting for vaccines from several platforms such as Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Novavax. They will be used to vaccinate 186 million Indonesians,” said the Deputy Minister of Health.
Not only Sinovac, the government is also still waiting for vaccines from Pfizer BioNTech, AstraZeneca, and Novavax. “This arrival is assisted by the Ministry of Finance, especially the Directorate General of Customs so that access is easier and the process is smooth. Everything is done integrated and synergistically, collaboratively between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance, and Bio Farma so that it will bring convenience to accelerate the vaccination process,” he added.

The Deputy Minister of Health informed that the development of the vaccination program that has been carried out by our government has succeeded in vaccinating 1.7 million health workers against COVID-19, exceeding 1.4 million health workers who were the initial target recipients of vaccination.
The government has also started the implementation of the second phase of vaccination for priority groups of public service officers with a target recipient of 16.9 million people and the elderly (> 60 years old) with a target recipient of 21.5 million elderly.

“Hopefully all the efforts we make, supported by all elements of society, can accelerate the vaccination program and soon bring us out of the pandemic. We continue to urge the entire community to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols, both those who have and have not been vaccinated, because this health protocol will protect us and those around us from COVID-19 transmission,” said the Deputy Minister of Health.
The Deputy Minister of Health also reminded that the vaccination program accompanied by 3M discipline, and 3T strengthening are important steps to open opportunities to protect health, increase productivity, and end the pandemic. “The entire community remains disciplined in implementing health protocols, both those who have and have not been vaccinated. Because health protocols will protect us and those around us from Covid-19 transmission,” he said.
