One of the tasks of the Ministry of Health through the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices in carrying out the mandate of the law is the issuance of a distribution permit for medical devices which aims to ensure the fulfillment of safety, quality and benefit requirements for medical devices that will be in circulation. In addition, with the slogan "Smart Choosing Alkes and PKRT", the government also has a responsibility for communication, information and education about the usefulness and correct use of medical devices and PKRT to the public.

"Because we must protect the public from the wrong use of medical devices and PKRT, so that the medical devices used can provide optimal benefits in supporting public health efforts, in this case including individual, family and environmental health." Said the Director of Medical Device and PKRT Assessment, Sodikin Sadek.

The Directorate General of Pharmacy through the Directorate of Medical Devices and PKRT Assessment has held a Cross-Sector Coordination of Communication, Information and Education (IEC) on the Use of Medical Devices and PKRT in the Community on October 14, 2021. Located at The Trans Resort Bali, this activity was attended by 100 participants consisting of Ministry of Health participants, 75 Master Agent Of Change and cross-sectors from the Provincial Health Office, District Health Office as many as 4 people while still implementing health protocols during the activity.

This activity seeks to deliver effective communication, information, and education (IEC) by involving relevant cross-sectors, such as the Regional Government (Prov / District / City Health Office), other professional / health organizations, community organizations, Commission IX DPR RI, educational institutions, associations of medical devices and PKRT companies, and experts in the field of medical devices and PKRT.

The purpose of this activity is to equip AoC (Agent of Change) with the ability to use medical devices and PKRT correctly so that they can then pass on their insights, guide and provide direction to the wider community. Agent Of Change (AoC) itself is a person or group of people who are trusted as leaders of one or more community institutions, who are expected to be able to bring change from the most basic elements of society, in order to bring the community/environment to be better. In this case, the knowledge and understanding of people who are still unfamiliar with medical devices and PKRT is expected to increase.
