Every health development effort must be based on health insight, in the sense that national development must pay attention to public health and is the responsibility of all parties, both government and society. Community development is an effort to fulfill one of the basic rights of the people, namely the right to quality health services.

In accordance with Government Regulation Number 72 of 1998 concerning the Safety of Pharmaceutical Supplies and Medical Devices, the Government is obliged to protect the public from the dangers caused by the improper use of pharmaceutical preparations and medical devices that do not meet the requirements of quality, safety and usefulness as one of the efforts in health development.

As one of the implementations of this mandate, the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices through the Directorate of Production and Distribution of Medical Devices needs to hold Communication, Information and Education activities on the Safety and Quality of Medical Devices and PKRT to prevent errors in the use of medical devices and PKRT and can provide optimal benefits.

The activity, which was held at the Bekasi Regency Multipurpose Building, was not only attended by the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, but also attended by the Head of the West Java Provincial Health Office, the Head of the Bekasi Regency Health Office, as well as representatives of the House of Representatives Commission IX drg. Putih Sari.

Through her speech, drg. Putih Sari appealed to the public to be more vigilant about medical devices and PKRT circulating in the community and not to be consumed by issues with low prices. She also asked the public not to forget to check the Edar License Number of the products they will use.

At the same time, mass COVID-19 vaccination was also carried out in two places, namely at the same place as the socialization activity with a target injection of 100 people, and the vaccination at the Wanasari Village Office, Cibitung District, Bekasi with a target injection of 200 people. The vaccine used is the Pfizer vaccine for residents who have not received the primary vaccine or booster. This is done to accelerate the occurrence of herd immunity or group immunity, especially in Cibitung District, Bekasi against COVID-19 infection.

The implementation of socialization and mass vaccination was quite successful, marked by the enthusiasm of residents who attended to gain more knowledge related to the safety and quality of medical devices and PKRT as well as getting injections of the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time. In addition, success can be measured by the achievement of the vaccination target until the end of the mass vaccination. This can be realized due to good coordination between regional apparatus from the RT-RW level to the sub-district in accommodating residents who attend and the West Java Provincial Health Office which participates as a regional committee in the implementation of these activities.
