South Tangerang, April 24
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially opened the 2024 National Health Work Meeting (Rakerkesnas) at ICE BSD, South Tangerang, Banten, Wednesday (24/4). The Rakerkesnas with the theme "Health Transformation: Sprinting Towards a Golden Indonesia" will run until Thursday (25/4) tomorrow.
The Rakerkesnas was attended by representatives of all provincial/district/municipal health offices, public hospitals, provincial/district/municipal Bappeda, UPT Kemenkes, representatives of ministries/institutions, and health development partners.
The President said that Indonesia will have the momentum to become a developed country because it will get a demographic bonus in the 2030s. To realize this, the health sector has a very important role.
"Health is very important, very fundamental, as stated by the Minister of Health, healthy first, then smart, because if you are smart but not healthy, what will you become?" said the President.
In addition to President Jokowi, the Rakerkesnas was also attended by Minister of Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas, and Vice Chairman of Commission IX of the House of Representatives Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena. The event was also attended by 2,100 participants.
Meanwhile, in his report, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that the health sector has an important role in realizing the Golden Indonesia 2045. For this reason, the Minister of Health invites health actors to make a paradigm shift in serving health.
"The trick is to make sure that the community must be healthy, the paradigm must be changed from treating sick people to nourishing the community," said the Minister of Health.
The Minister added that the Ministry of Health is also currently conducting health transformation involving 514 districts/cities in 38 provinces. In addition, the Ministry of Health involves Bappeda and the private sector to support health transformation. This involvement is because health transformation cannot only be carried out by employees in the health environment.
"We already have a health transformation program that involves 514 districts/cities and 38 provinces as well as health offices and hospitals, as well as Bappeda, so that Indonesia Emas can be achieved," said the Minister of Health.
The Rakerkesnas is held for two days, April 24-25, 2024, with various activities including a communication forum to discuss obstacles and challenges, and find effective solutions in health development. At the event location, there are also booths from the main units in the Ministry of Health that will serve consultations related to national health programs.
