The government continues to focus on addressing the equitable distribution of drug stocks in first-level health care facilities (fasyankes). Reports of drug shortages in several health facilities have prompted the government to strengthen coordination and planning to ensure that drug availability remains optimal and health services to the community are not disrupted.
The fulfillment of medicine stocks in each health facility will follow the needs plan that has been prepared. Therefore, local governments are expected to conduct real-time stock planning and reporting to support the smooth distribution of drugs. This is an important step so that every health facility is always ready to serve the community.
The Directorate of Pharmaceutical Management and Services of the Ministry of Health emphasized that this initiative is part of the implementation of Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health, which mandates the government to ensure the availability, equity, and affordability of health supplies.

On September 18, 2024, the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals of the Ministry of Health held an evaluation activity in East Nusa Tenggara Province, aimed at ensuring that the drug logistics application is running well in controlling drug availability. This evaluation involved a number of related ministries and institutions, such as the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Home Affairs, Bappenas, and LKPP, as well as representatives of Provincial Health Offices from all over Indonesia. Similar evaluations will continue to be conducted on a rotational basis in various provinces.
The government also provides briefings related to the utilization of the APBD for the needs of drugs and consumable medical goods (BMHP). In addition, budget allocations through the General Allocation Fund (DAU) and Special Allocation Fund (DAK) are ensured so that health facilities have sufficient resources. Real-time stock reporting through logistics applications continues to be emphasized so that the distribution process runs quickly and stock vacancies can be avoided.
Agusdini Banun Saptaningsih, Director of Pharmaceutical Management and Services, emphasized the government's commitment to maintaining smooth drug distribution.
“We ensure that drug shipments from the central warehouse will continue to be pushed to areas in need. Let us collaborate by reporting stocks in real-time, so that drug shortages can be avoided,” Agusdini said.
This program is a long-term initiative that requires close synergy between the central and local governments. The utilization of information technology is key in creating an effective and efficient drug distribution ecosystem. Through joint commitment, it is hoped that equitable drug availability in all health facilities can be achieved, in order to improve the health status of the Indonesian people.
