In an effort to build the resilience of medical devices, the Ministry of Health focuses on accelerating the production of domestic medical devices and increasing the use of domestic raw materials and components, so as to realize resilience from upstream to downstream in the country.
The government seeks to achieve the target of reducing medical device import spending by 35% by strengthening the ecosystem of Indonesia's medical device industry, from research and development, production, to the use of domestic medical devices.
With the issuance of Health Law Number 17 of 2023, which is one of the government's commitments in improving health security, it is hoped that national independence can be created which can encourage the development of the local health industry both at the regional and global levels.
