Located at the Dhanapala Building of the Ministry of Finance, Central Jakarta, the Government of Indonesia officially released humanitarian assistance in the form of polio vaccine grants for children in Myanmar as a form of solidarity and collaboration in supporting global health security.
The vaccine grant was initiated by the Government of Indonesia through LDKPI (Lembaga Dana Kerja Sama Pembangunan Internasional) under the Ministry of Finance and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The release of bivalent oral polio vaccine (bOPV) types 1 & 3 was symbolically carried out by the Director of Pharmaceutical Management and Services of the Ministry of Health Agusdini Banun Saptaningsih, Director of Southeast Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Arifianto Sofiyanto, President Director of LDKPI Tormarbulang Lumbantobing and representatives from the Ministry of Finance. In her speech, Agusdini said that Indonesia is committed to supporting efforts to eradicate diseases that can be prevented through immunization, including polio.

“The grant of 2.7 million doses of polio vaccine is expected to provide real benefits for children in Myanmar, protect them from the risk of disability due to polio, and help Myanmar achieve its polio elimination target in accordance with the global strategy,” Agusdini said.
Furthermore, Agusdini expressed her appreciation to all parties who have supported the implementation of this grant, especially to the International Development Cooperation Fund Institute (LDKPI) of the Ministry of Finance, the Directorate of International Development Cooperation and the Directorate of Southeast Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Indonesian Embassy in Yangon, the Center for Global Health Policy and Health Technology of the Ministry of Health and other parties, who supported the implementation of the polio vaccine grant from Myanmar.
