Jakarta, March 25, 2021, 16 million bulk COVID-19 vaccines including 1.5 million for overfill from Sinovac arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Jakarta. Deputy Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono accompanied by Plt. Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Arianti Anaya also escorted the arrival of the bulk vaccine.

Upon arrival in Indonesia, the vaccines in the 9 envirotrainers will be immediately transported using 3 trucks to Biofarma. The arrival of this bulk vaccine is the fourth arrival, as a manifestation of PT Bio Farma's commitment to provide 122.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to the government.

Furthermore, the POM Agency will evaluate the 16 million vaccines that arrived in Indonesia today to ensure their safety, quality and efficacy before being distributed and used in the national vaccination program.

On this occasion, the Deputy Minister of Health also expressed his gratitude to all levels of the TNI and Polri who continue to support and oversee the vaccine distribution process to ensure that all people, even those in remote areas, should not be deprived of their right to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. “Thank you very much to the TNI and Polri who have fully supported the process starting from escorting the arrival of the vaccine to the Bio Farma factory and then distributing it to all provinces in Indonesia,” said the Deputy Minister of Health.

The government continues to intensify the national vaccination program through mass vaccination events in various regions by collaborating with individuals and related agencies. It is hoped that this vaccination is not only a program, but a joint movement in which everyone can be involved in the success of national vaccination. “I urge the public not to hesitate to be vaccinated when their turn comes. The government will definitely prioritize vaccines that are truly safe and efficacious for use by the entire community based on recommendations from experts,” said the Deputy Minister of Health. For people who have been vaccinated, he urged them to continue implementing health protocols to provide optimal protection. “For those who have been vaccinated, don't forget to keep implementing the 3M health protocol, because this is very important, it does not mean that vaccination makes people immune. But it takes time for immunity to form in the body, hopefully today's arrival we will get great benefits to accelerate vaccination and will achieve immunity,” he concluded.
