The Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals through the Directorate of Pharmaceutical Production and Distribution held a Socialization of the Use of Safe, Quality and Useful Jamu in supporting the COVID-19 Vaccination at Tegowanu Kulon Village Hall, Grobogan Regency, Central Java.
This activity was attended by 200 people consisting of 30 people from UJG-UJR, supervisors at the Grobogan District Health Office and Puskesmas, and 170 people from the community in the Grobogan Regency area and was attended by a member of the House of Representatives Commission IX, Edy Wuryanto.
The socialization, which is carried out by implementing health protocols during this activity, aims to provide technical guidance and competitiveness for Jamu Gendong Businesses (UJG) and Jamu Racikan Businesses (UJR) in providing safe, quality and useful herbal medicine and educating the general public regarding the National Movement for Fitness with Jamu (Gernas Bude Jamu) to support the Healthy Living Community Movement (Germas) so that the use of herbal medicine can improve public health status and improve the people's economy.
In her remarks, the Coordinator of Drugs and Food, Elza Gustanti representing the Director of Pharmaceutical Production and Distribution said "What needs to be considered by UJG and UJR actors and the public is how to use herbal medicine so that it can meet health requirements, which are safe for consumption, especially in the aspect of hygiene and sanitation in making herbal medicine".
In the future, it is hoped that UJG and UJR actors and the community can apply the use of herbal medicine processing that pays attention to cleanliness and health and the public can find out the benefits of herbal medicine for family health and fitness.
Through this activity, COVID-19 vaccination was also carried out for the community in Tegowanu Kulon Village and Kedungwungu Village with a total of 1083 people who registered for the vaccine, 1082 people who received the vaccine and 1 person who was delayed in being vaccinated due to congenital disease. The Government of Indonesia has made the implementation of Covid-19 vaccination part of the Covid-19 pandemic response strategy. The purpose of implementing Covid-19 vaccination is to protect the public from infection with the Sar-Cov-2 virus which can cause morbidity and mortality due to Covid-19. Vaccines are not drugs, but this vaccination activity is an effort made to actively cause/increase a person's immunity to a disease, so that if one day exposed to the disease, they will not get sick or only experience minor sickness.
