With the development of science and technology in the field of pharmacy, especially the standardization of traditional medicinal raw materials, the Second Edition of Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia Supplement I was published which is an integral part of the Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia Second Edition 2017 to complete the quality requirements of traditional medicinal raw materials circulating in Indonesia.
Supplement I of Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia Edition II contains 110 monographs of simplisia and extracts from 55 plants. The monographs contain information covering quality requirements consisting of organoleptic, macroscopic, microscopic, chemical content, as well as an appendix with analytical methods including procedures and equipment. The preparation of the Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia: Supplement I Edition II involved contributors consisting of academics, researchers, and practitioners in the herbal field, as well as the Food and Drug Administration. Through the Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia: Supplement I Edition II is expected to spur the production of traditional medicines that meet the requirements and increase the utilization of Indonesian natural ingredients.
