The Indonesian Ministry of Health continues to strive to improve access and convenience for the public in obtaining medicines and health services through digitization of health services. The latest effort made, namely launching the Farmaplus 2.0 website which can be accessed through https://farmaplus.kemkes.go.id/medicine.
The Farmaplus 2.0 website is a one-stop gateway for the public to obtain information on drug availability and prices at various health service facilities and pharmacies in Indonesia. The Farmaplus 2.0 website has also been integrated with SATUSEHAT.
The drug information on Farmaplus 2.0 is equipped with the drug name, description, general indication, composition, warnings, side effects, price, and information on the health service facility that provides the drug, including its address, website, and contact number. To make it easier for the public to obtain information, the health service facility contacts listed on Farmaplus 2.0 have also been connected to the WhatsApp messaging service. This allows the public to ask questions directly to the relevant health care facilities and pharmacies.
Expert Staff to the Minister of Health for Health Technology Setiaji revealed that the Ministry of Health is increasing options for the public to access drug information. "Farmaplus 2.0 can be accessed in the form of a website or features on mobile apps," Setiaji said.
In addition to the website https://farmaplus.kemkes.go.id/medicine, information on medicine prices can also be accessed through the SATUSEHAT Mobile application through the 'Cari Obat' feature. The public can search for medicine information on the Farmaplus 2.0 website or SATUSEHAT Mobile based on the medicine name, active ingredient, or medical indication.
Meanwhile, medical indications that can currently be traced include cancer, heart disease, stroke, and uronephrology. In addition, the public can also search by province and district / city to find out the nearest health service facilities and pharmacies that provide drugs. Currently, there are 2,688 medicines based on brand or trade name available on the Farmaplus 2.0 website.
"Improving access and ease of obtaining medicines is one of our priorities. Through Farmaplus 2.0, we hope that the public will be facilitated in accessing information on drug availability and prices in a transparent manner. Thus, people can obtain medicines faster, easier, and more affordable," said Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Dr. L. Rizka Andalusia.
