Jakarta - Indonesian Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, expressed the Ministry of Health's great commitment to providing quality health services for all Indonesians. This was revealed during the inauguration of new echelon 1 officials at the Ministry of Health Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (7/01/2025).
“This new position is a huge mandate, where we are responsible for the health of 280 million Indonesians. This task includes managing thousands of hospitals, tens of thousands of clinics and health centers, as well as hundreds of thousands of health workers throughout the country,” said Minister Budi.
He emphasized that health care is a fundamental right of all Indonesians, as mandated by the Constitution. “In the 1945 Constitution, it is clear that health services are the right of every Indonesian, and the government has an obligation to fulfill it. Our duty is to ensure accessible, quality and affordable health services for all levels of society,” he continued.
The inauguration of the new officials was carried out in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 21 of 2024 concerning the Organization and Work Procedure of the Ministry of Health. The regulation aims to create a more effective and efficient organizational structure in supporting the performance of the Ministry of Health.
In his remarks, Minister Budi expressed his hope that Indonesia will become an example to the world in the provision of health services. “We must ensure that Indonesia becomes a role model in providing high-quality health services. If we are able to face the huge geographical and demographic challenges, then Indonesia can be an inspiration for other countries,” he said.
He added that if Indonesia succeeds in overcoming major challenges in health services, then other countries will see Indonesia as a model in building an inclusive and sustainable health system.
This inauguration is a momentum for the Ministry of Health to strengthen efforts to realize the right to health for all Indonesians, in accordance with the constitutional mandate and the big vision for a healthier Indonesia.

1. Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha as Secretary General;
2. Murti Utami as Inspector General;
3. Dr. Maria Endang Sumiwi as Director General of Primary and Community Health;
4. Azhar Jaya as Director General of Advanced Health;
5. Lucia Rizka Andalusia as Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices;
6. Yuli Farianti as Director General of Health Human Resources;
7. Dr. Asnawi Abdullah as Head of the Health Development Policy Agency;
8. Bayu Teja Muliawan as Expert Staff on Health Economics;
9. Dr. Setiaji as Expert Staff for Health Technology;
10. Dr. Sundoyo as Expert Staff on Health Law; and
11. Bonanza Perwira Taihitu as Expert Staff on Health Politics and Globalization.
