As a joint effort between the government and the community through a series of awareness activities, awareness, and understanding of the community in using drugs appropriately and correctly, the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the House of Representatives Commission IX carried out the Socialization of GeMa CerMat (Smart Community Movement Using Drugs).
The activity, which was carried out in conjunction with mass vaccination, was held at Citeko Village Hall and Karoya Village Hall, Plered District, Purwakarta Regency, West Java on October 22, 2021. The total number of people who attended this event reached 1000 people, and was attended by drg. Putih Sari, a member of the House of Representatives Commission IX.

The event began with remarks from the Director of Pharmaceutical Services of the Ministry of Health, represented by the Coordinator of Rational Drug Improvement Refiandes, S.Si, Apt, MPH. In his remarks, he said that GeMa CerMat is a joint effort between the government and the community through a series of activities in order to realize public concern, awareness, and understanding in using drugs appropriately and correctly, which aims to increase the use of rational drugs.
This movement involves Agent of Change (AoC) Pharmacists who actively provide direct education to the public regarding the correct use of drugs, including urging the public when using drugs to always ask the 5 O's, namely; (1) what is the name of this drug, (2) what is the efficacy of this drug, (3) what is the dosage of this drug (4) how to use this drug (5) what are the side effects of this drug, so that it is hoped that the public can avoid bad conditions due to wrong use of drugs.

Meanwhile, drg. Putih Sari, a member of Commission IX (health and labor) of the House of Representatives in her remarks urged the public to always comply with health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prevention efforts in the community are carried out through health promotion by providing communication, information, education and socialization to the public regarding COVID-19. Protection activities (protect) are carried out, among others, through the provision of hand washing facilities with soap disinfection of surfaces, rooms, and equipment periodically.
Case finding efforts are carried out by early detection at critical points and groups at risk of COVID-19 transmission. Proper handling efforts if there is a positive COVID-19 are immediately implemented contact tracing, localizing contaminated areas, disinfection, PCR tests and referring patients to health facilities.
