In an effort to resilience medical devices, the Ministry of Health through the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin, as well as in collaboration with ASPAKI and Gakeslab Indonesia participated in the world's largest medical device exhibition (MEDICA 2022) in Düsseldorf, Germany on November 14, 2022.

For the first time, the Indonesian Pavilion is among the world's medical device manufacturers in MEDICA 2022, which is attended by more than 5,000 multinational companies with more than 15,000 types of medical device products. The exhibition is the largest medical device exhibition in the world, and Indonesia's participation in MEDICA 2022 is one of the active strategies in increasing access of Indonesian medical products to the European market.
The Indonesian Pavilion at Messe Dusseldorf Hall 17 was opened by the Indonesian Ambassador to RF Germany Arif Havas Oegroseno, Special Staff of the Minister of Health for Resilience of the Drug and Medical Devices Industry Prof. Laksono Trisnantoro and Director of Production and Distribution of Medical Devices Sodikin Sadek.

In the strategically located Hall 17, Indonesia's pavilion was side by side with the pavilions of renowned countries such as China, Korea, Singapore, Japan, Switzerland, Argentina, and Brazil. In the hall, Indonesian companies showcased a variety of superior products including electric hospital beds, surgical equipment, syringes, cardiography scanning equipment, dialysis process machines, reagent testing equipment, wheelchairs and devices, sphygmomamometers, and medical device calibrators.

The Ministry of Health focuses on accelerating the production of domestic medical devices. The medical device industry in Indonesia is also expected to utilize local raw materials and increase the use of domestic raw materials and components, so as to realize resilience from upstream to downstream in the country.
Domestically produced medical devices that have obtained distribution permits, which certainly meet the requirements of safety, quality and usefulness, are expected to meet domestic needs independently, and then be able to compete globally, in the export market. For this reason, the medical device industry must have quality that meets global standards.

Indonesia's participation in MEDICA 2022 is not only to introduce Indonesian medical devices to the international world, but also to attract global industrial investment and facilitate cooperation between the Indonesian medical device industry and the medical device industry in Germany and the European Union. On the same occasion, an MoU was signed between the Indonesian medical device industry and the German and Italian medical device industries.
