To realize an Advanced Indonesia that is Sovereign, Independent, and Personality Based on Gotong Royong must be supported by accelerating development in various fields including the health sector. Health development is organized through the National Health System. This National Health System must be strengthened with the ability to create various breakthroughs and innovations to adapt to developments that occur at local, national, regional and global levels.
Various breakthroughs and innovations continue to be made by the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, among others, to ensure the availability of essential drugs and vaccines; strengthening the selection program for safe, quality, useful, and cost-effective drugs for the National Health Insurance program; utilizing data and information systems to help policy effectiveness and efficiency; ease of licensing; increasing the independence of drug raw materials; accelerating downstream and developing the domestic pharmaceutical and medical device industry; strengthening the supervision system; and preventive promotive programs to increase the use of rational drugs and appropriate medical devices to the community.
The success of health development, especially in the field of pharmacy and medical devices, is also the responsibility of all components of the Indonesian nation according to their roles and functions. This success is also largely determined by the continuity of efforts across programs, efforts across sectors, and continuity with efforts that have been implemented in the previous period. Challenges and obstacles will always be ready, including the COVID-19 pandemic, but should not be an obstacle in achieving goals.
