Medical devices are one of the important components in health services. Based on Presidential Instruction number 2 of 2022 concerning the Acceleration of Increased Use of Domestic Products and Products of Micro, Small and Cooperative Enterprises. To succeed the National Movement for Proud of Indonesian Products in the Implementation of Government Procurement; the Minister of Health received three instructions, one of which is to accelerate the publication of health sector catalogs (pharmaceutical preparations and medical devices) of domestic products.
Based on the Presidential Instruction, the Ministry of Health through the 3rd Pillar of Health System Transformation seeks to improve the Resilience of the Pharmaceutical & Medical Devices Sector, one of which is by increasing the growth of the industry and types of domestic medical devices and increasing spending on domestically produced medical devices.
In an effort to achieve this goal, the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices through the Directorate of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Resilience held a business matching activity in the framework of accelerating the purchase of domestically produced medical devices and the exhibition of Indonesian produced medical devices at FourPoints Hotel in Medan on February 21-23, 2023. The meeting was attended by representatives from health service facilities, selected Provincial / Regency / City Health Offices in the western region, RSUD, associations and the medical device industry.
The purpose of this meeting is to increase user understanding in this case health service facilities related to technology, quality, and TKDN of domestic medical devices, and the output to be achieved is the transfer of information related to technology, quality, and TKDN of domestic medical devices.
The meeting was opened by the Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Dra. L. Rizka Andalucia, Apt, M.Pharm, MARS and in her remarks she explained that this meeting had a very significant impact on the number of domestic medical device transactions in the e-Catalog.
"Based on LKPP e-catalog data for 2019-2021, medical device transactions are dominated by imported products as much as 88% and only 12% of domestically produced medical devices. However, in 2022 there will be an increase in domestic medical device transactions to 30%".
Director General Rizka also added that the transaction value of domestic medical devices in 2019-2020, which was originally 2.3 T, has increased to 13.2 T in 2021-2022.
In addition to Workshop activities, Business Matching, Exhibition of Indonesian Medical Devices and as an appreciation, awards were given to 3 (three) RSUDs with the Highest Use / Expenditure of Domestic Medical Devices in North Sumatra Province.
