Bali, May 27, 2022.
Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices L. Rizka Andalucia attended a meeting and evaluation at the Center for Post-Harvest Processing of Medicinal Plants (P4TO) Facility in order to provide sustainable standardized natural raw materials. This meeting was held at P4TO Tabanan Regency, Baturiti Village, Bali.
The Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices was accompanied by Secretary Dita Novianti, Director of Pharmaceutical Production and Distribution Agusdini Banun, Director of Medical Device Production and Distribution Sodikin Sadek and Director of Pharmaceutical Management and Services Dina Sintia.
During this meeting, the Director General appreciated the activities organized by P4TO Tabanan Regency. The Director General said that P4TO activities that produce medicinal raw materials from natural ingredients into raw materials that are ready to be produced into herbal medicine, OHT or phytopharmaca are very useful, because medicinal raw materials must have a Good Traditional Medicine Manufacturing Method (CPOTB) standard.
“Because herbal medicine raw materials are the key ingredients of herbal medicine production in Indonesia, it would be better if we concentrate on the raw material products, so that MSMEs or herbal medicine producers can obtain raw materials that meet the standards,” said the Director General.
Furthermore, the Director General advised that farmers can be involved in the production of raw materials for herbal medicine raw materials. It is hoped that in the future P4TO Tabanan Regency can increase the production of raw materials to extracts so as to reduce dependence on raw materials from abroad or even export their production. In addition, P4TO coaching activities are expected to foster MSMEs that will produce standardized herbal medicines, foster how to choose good herbal medicine raw materials and how to maintain the quality of good medicinal raw materials so that they can be used for up to 2 years.
