The Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices of the Ministry of Health (Ditjen Farmalkes Kemenkes) conducted Communication, Information and Education (IEC) activities on the supervision of medical devices and household health supplies (PKRT) on Wednesday (31/01/2024), in the field of Sempu Village, Kunduran District, Blora Regency, Central Java Province. This activity is one of the efforts in order to realize public concern, awareness, and understanding in using medical devices safely and correctly.
Based on Law number 36 of 2009 concerning Health, it is stated that the state guarantees that medical devices and PKRT in circulation meet safety standards or requirements, are of good quality and useful for use and improve health security, are environmentally friendly and affordable.
The Ministry of Health has a very important role in ensuring the standards or requirements of medical devices and PKRT, both through pre-market and post-market supervision activities.

Pertemuan ini dihadiri oleh anggota DPR RI Komisi IX, Edi Wuryanto, turut hadir perwakilan dari Kementerian Kesehatan, Dinas Kesehatan Prov. Jawa Tengah dan Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Blora
Head of the Working Team for Supervision, Observation, Research, and Inspection (Wasmatlitrik) and Handling of Public Complaints of the Directorate of Medical Devices Supervision of the Directorate General of Pharmacy, Suherman explained how to intelligently use medical devices and PKRT. It is hoped that the community will be able to choose, obtain, and use Alkes and PKRT wisely according to their needs.
"Do not easily believe in health products that are advertised excessively, pay attention and follow the instructions for use and safety instructions on the packaging, store products in a safe place, keep them out of the reach of children, choose economical products that suit your needs and take an active part in supervision, by reporting if you find products that do not comply with the provisions and do not have a distribution permit from the Ministry of Health," said Suherman.
On this occasion, blood sugar and blood pressure checks were also carried out on 600 people around Sempu Village in an effort to detect non-communicable diseases (NCDs) early. NCDs can also be prevented by implementing the Healthy Living Movement (Germas).
